Abstract Art Commissions in Maryland
Sahar Boussard is an abstract expressionist artist based in Montgomery County, Maryland, offering custom abstract art commissions for collectors seeking one-of-a-kind, nature-inspired artwork. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, Sahar creates richly textured, contemporary abstract paintings designed specifically for each client and their space.
Sahar’s commission process is collaborative and intuitive, guided by color, movement, and emotion rather than strict realism. Drawing inspiration from nature—including flowers, landscapes, and organic forms—she translates personal stories, environments, and aesthetic preferences into expressive abstract artwork.

Custom Wedding Bouquet Paintings
A wedding bouquet holds more than flowers — it carries a moment, a feeling, a beginning. After painting my own wedding bouquet and falling in love with the result, I began offering custom wedding bouquet paintings as a way to preserve these meaningful arrangements long after the day has passed.
Each bouquet commission is translated into an expressive, abstract floral painting inspired by your original arrangement. Using layered acrylic paint and intuitive mark-making, I focus on color, movement, and emotion rather than literal realism, creating a one-of-a-kind artwork you can live with and cherish for years to come. These pieces are especially meaningful as anniversary gifts, heirloom keepsakes, or statement art for the home.
To begin, I’ll need a clear photo of your bouquet. During our consultation, we’ll discuss size options, color direction, and placement to ensure the finished painting aligns beautifully with your space and vision.
Unique & Custom Commission Requests
Have an idea that doesn’t fit neatly into a category? I welcome unique, one-of-a-kind commission requests and love collaborating on projects that are deeply personal. In the past, I’ve created custom Ketubot, hand-painted wedding shoes, and other meaningful pieces designed to celebrate important moments.
Whether your idea is floral, symbolic, or something entirely unexpected, I’ll work with you to translate your vision into an expressive, thoughtfully crafted artwork. Each custom commission is approached with care, creativity, and an openness to explore new forms while staying true to my abstract, nature-inspired style.
If you have something special in mind, I’d love to hear about it.
Artist Background & Professional Practice
Sahar holds a BFA in Studio Art, with a concentration in painting and film photography, from the University of Maryland. In 2025, she founded Artwork by Sahar, LLC to fully pursue her professional art practice. She works closely with clients throughout the commission process—from initial concept to final delivery—ensuring each painting feels personal, meaningful, and made to be lived with.
“After I saw one of Sahar‘s paintings of a floral bouquet, I asked her immediately if she would be willing to paint my wedding bouquet. I sent her a few pictures and she captured the beauty of the wildflowers perfectly. Seeing that painting on my wall always brings me joy and reminds me of the beauty of that day.”
